Leather Care
How to care for your NDA piece:
Made with meticulous care and with infinite patience, your NDA piece can last a lifetime if you know how to care for it properly. A living material, leather changes, softens, and gains a patina with time. Most of the leathers I use will grow darker over time when exposed to sunlight and water. This patina effect is natural and is what gives leather its unique quality and character. Leather is sensitive to natural elements: water, oil, heat, light, and environments that are too humid or too dry. Protect it from prolonged exposure to intense light and heat (direct sunlight, in a window, on a radiator, etc.), which may alter the color.
Regular leather care advice:
Regular leather care advice:
When you are not using your NDA piece, make sure to provide it with the best possible preservation conditions: a temperate, dry environment away from light, preferably in its dust cover. You can also regular use a soft, clean, lint-free cloth and apply a tiny amount of Black Rock leather conditioning cream to smooth out any tiny markings. That is my preferred conditioning cream!
What if my piece comes in contact with water or has been soiled?
If the leather comes into contact with water, wipe it immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth. This will prevent the formation of stains and blisters.
If leather is soiled, it can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth using a lather of any mild soap with lukewarm water. Do not spot clean leather; clean the entire surface.

Things to keep in mind when wearing leather:
Some materials can leave permanent marks on leather: ink (markers and pens), oily products (makeup and lipstick), perfume and alcohol-based products. Repeated contact with raw or dark textiles (such as denim) can also have undesirable effects on leather that is lighter in color.
Due to the nature of NDA designs many leathers are unlined. Our darker colored leathers (black, burgundy) when in repeated contact with lighter colored clothing can crock and leave undesired marks. Regular laundering will remove these markings if they occur on your clothes.
